    Truncated descriptions in iTunes

    Hello there,

I'm wondering why the description fields are truncated in iTues, so that "Pines and tall grass meet the wind on a ridge outside Wellington. From about November 2007." becomes "Pines and tall grass…"

The full description is there when I click the i button for it, but doesn't appear in the regular view.

What might I have done wrong?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

You haven't done anything wrong! That short text comes from the subtitle element, which Apple suggests should be short. What we do is take the first part of your description.

    Here's what Apple's specification says:

    itunes:subtitle
The contents of this tag are shown in the Description column in iTunes. The subtitle displays best if it is only a few words long.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks Mack! Other podcasts have much more text in the Description field in iTunes, is there any way we can do that too? Thanks!
